Handrail Assembly
Age Craft Aluminum Handrail is an excellent
choice for an indoor or outdoor rust-free handrail. Ideal for mounting on wood or concrete
walls to provide support opposite our aluminum railing. Also used by itself or as a
secondary handrail for our Age Craft aluminum railing systems. The handrail matches the
top rail of our aluminum railing exactly in style and color. Mounts easily using bracket
system in conjuction with lag screws. Masonary installations require conical anchors along
with the lag screws, or use wedge bolts by themselves. Brackets should not be placed more
than 3' apart. After mounting the brackets, the handrail is attached to the brackets by
drilling through both the handrail and bracket top with a 13/64" drill bit. Secure
with color coordinated stainless steel screws provided. Slide end knobs over handrail,
drill holes for screws, attach with provided screws and you're done. Installation
instructions are for mounting to a wood or masonary wall. Installation as a secondary
handrail for a railing section is similar to the procedures below, fasteners available at
your local hardware store.
Easy one-man installation!
| 1. |
Measure required height to match
existing railing, keeping the same angle as the railing top rail. Divide the distance of
the handrail spanning no more than 3' in any section. |
| 2. |
Install handrail brackets with
2" lag screws. If mounting to masonary, pre-drill holes and use anchors to mount to
wall, or use wedge bolts that require no conical anchors. |
| 3. |
Slide handrail over brackets and
drill through both the handrail and bracket top with a 13/64" drill bit. Attach
handrail with stainless steel screws. |
| 4. |
Slide end knobs over handrail,
drill mounting holes, and attach with stainless steel screws. |
Your installation is
now complete. Enjoy!
