Self-Closing Spring Hinges These unique adjustable self-closing spring hinges may be used on residential and commercial chain link gates. Typically two are required per gate, consider three on commercial gates and gates taller than 6' high. Self-closing hinges are primarily used on pedestrian gates 3'-8' high and 3-5' wide. For larger gates, consider our Samson self-closer found here. Chain link spring hinge models install quickly with included U-bolts. Additionally, small tabs exist on U-bolts allowing the installation of self-tap screws to 'lock' hinges in place on posts. Hinge tension is adjustable with nut and allen wrench (included). Self-closing hinges are made of a heavy duty aluminum die cast housing. Hinge pin and spring are both stainless steel. This design allows for very low to no maintenance. Allow approximately 1-1/2" between gate hinge post and gate frame; this gate latch allowance is ideal for replacing most traditional chain link latches which have a similar space requirement. |
