Overhead Slide Gate Fittings And Beams
Overhead gates are not as popular as cantilever gates, however they are still popular for commercial facilities. Simply, an I-beam is installed horizontally between two or more posts. Trolleys are installed on the I-beam, the gate is bolted with U-bolts to the trolley and hangs to the ground. One big disadvantage to this type of gate is overhead clearance for larger trucks and aircraft. They are also more difficult to install compared with a standard cantilever gate. These gates are typically beyond the do-it-yourselfer's capabilities.
