Model BGU-D Parking Gate Operator

The Model BGU-D barrier gate is designed to control vehicular traffic and can be actuated by different devices, such as radio contols, single and three-button control stations, digital keypads, coded cards, sensing loops, telephone entry systems, and revenue control equipment. The Model BGU-D barrier gate can be used for either traffic control or parking applications. Gate arm opening speed is 2 seconds. Through switch selections, the gate operator is universal and suitable for all installation and operational functions. Switch selection allows for full flexibility as to how and when the arm comes down in traffic control situations. Added advantage to the DC operator is the automatic-open feature upon power loss. Available with three sizes of arms and two cabinet colors. Optional solar panel available.

Cabinet:
  • Weather-resistant galvanized steel cabinet with powder coat finish available in yellow or white
  • Lockable and removable front cover for easy access
Mechanical:
  • Dual V-belt
  • Heavy-duty right-angle oil bath gear reducers
  • Heavy-duty harmonic link with oil impregnated bronze bushings
  • Gate arm clamp with cutting bracket
Anti-Entrapment/Detection Devices:
  • Operator is pre-wired to accept contact and non-contact detection devices such as reverse edges and/or photo electric eyes
Electrical:
  • 1/2 hp, 24 VDC permanent magnet motor
  • 115 VAC supply converted to 24 VDC for motor and controls
  • Power on/off switch
  • Three-button control station included
  • Accessory connections are 24 volt VDC
  • Easily adjustable cam-operated limit switches
  • Full system capable for Access Controls and Reversing Devices
  • Low voltage surge suppressor included
Gate Arm:
  • 10', 12', or 14' arm
  • Constructed of 1x4" soft wood, painted white with yellow and black warning tape and labels on each side
     
Battery Back-up:
  • Dual batteries charged by 115 VAC or optional solar panels
  • Charging circuit monitors and maintains battery, monitors AC availability, automatically switches to batteries when AC is removed, automatically resumes AC operation
  • Control circuit options in absence of AC power:
    Option 1: Fail Safe (opens the gate and shuts down until AC power is restored)
    Option 2: Fail Secure (continues to cycle gate in normal operation until batteries run down and then cycles open. Resumes cycling when existing batteries are charged or when fresh batteries are installed)
Control Circuit:
  • Solid state circuit board, 24 VDC
  • Inherent current sensing system
  • 15 LEDs for easy setup and troubleshooting
  • Built-in maximum run timer and auto close timer
  • Master/Slave - simple three-wire connection
Warning Signals:
  • Pre-start audio/visual outputs provided
