DoorKing's traffic control
products are ideal for controlling most one way traffic. The Model 1610 Flush Traffic Control
Spike requires trenching for in-ground installation. The Model 1610 Surface Traffic Control
Spike requires no trenching by mounting directly onto concrete. Both units
will allow vehicular travel in one direction only. Traffic control spikes are frequently
used to enforce one way traffic in a single traffic lane, such as the entrance or exit to
parking facility. The Model 1615 Warning Sign
should always be used whenever a spike set is installed in a roadway, included with
traffic spikes. This sign provides a means to inform vehicular traffic that a one way lane
condition exists and that severe tire damage may result if they proceed. The red side of
the sign warns traffic to stop, while the green side of the sign warns traffic not to
back-up. The sign is illuminated by two 20 watt fluorescent bulbs that automatically turn
on at dusk and turn off at dawn. A 150 watt flood lamp is used to illuminate the spikes
during night hours. The 1610 and 1615 traffic control products make an ideal compliment to
a Barrier Gate
Operator. The Model 1610-150
Speed Bump is highly recommended when using the traffic spikes to keep
vehicle speeds to 5 mph (maximum recommended speed to prevent damage to traffic spike

NOTE: Warning signs (model 1615) must be used with traffic spikes to warn drivers that a one-way traffic condition exists. Speed bumps (model 1610-150) should always be used with traffic spikes. Speeds in excess of 5 mph over the spikes can cause tire damage. Warning signs included with traffic spikes, speed bumps sold separately.

| MANUFACTURER'S COMMENTS: These spikes are quite durable for a traffic spike. The spring loaded spikes are more durable than the weighted spikes. The weighted spikes tend to break if vehicles drive too fast over the spikes (max. 5 mph speed recommended). The weighted spikes can freeze up if water fills the cavity and freezes. The biggest thing about snow is the snow plows. If a plow goes over the spike, they tend to break off bolts. Plows need to be very careful around the spikes. Doorking warranties the spikes against workmanship, however, rarely are the spikes defective. Springs typically are not covered by the warranty. All the welds and whatnot are covered. Choose the spring or weighted model according to the application for reliability. Choose the models with the lock-down feature for capability to lock the spikes in the down position to allow free entrance and exit. | |||
