OPERATION NOTES:

• Only one master can be used at a time to communicate with the door station.
• If both masters are turned on, a feedback will be heard through the system when the TALK button is depressed. If this occurs, turn off one of the master stations (depress OFF button). At that time, communication can continue normally.
• There is no communication between master stations.
• A slight amount of crosstalk may be heard at the unused master. If so, an internal modification can be done to eliminate it. Call or FAX Technical Support for instructions.

INSTALLATION GUIDELINES:

• Use 2 conductor wire from the door station to the first master, then to the second master.Install the units at the desired locations.
• Separate power supplies (12-16V AC or 12-24V DC) are required at both inside master stations. The door strike can be powered from the first mastees power source.
• Install bare wire leg of the component module directly onto the " 1 " terminal of the LEM- I DL's.
• Attach the wire coming from the " 1 " terminal of the LE-D door station to the colored wire end of the component modules at both masters. (This will fit easily into the space available.)
• Connect the "E"-terminals between the door station and master stations.
• If door release is included, use a separate 2-conductor wire from the "EL" terminals of the masters to the door strike.
• The EL-9S is designed for a standard wood framed door, and for light and medium usage. If a different type of door is used, install a strike appropriate for the door.
• The door release button on the master station is a "normally open" contact. If a magnetic lock is used, the door release button can be modified to "normally closed".
• To modify door release to "normally closed", locate and cut jumper JPO3 on the component side of the PC board (near talk switch). Install a jumper in the place marked JPO2.
