BUGS & IMPROVEMENTS:

Version 1.9

Previous versions of the Chain Link Calculator v.1.9 had a bug in the double gate quantity fields. If no entry was made in the first of 4 fields, the other three were not recognized. This bug has been remedied as of 3/1/98 in the demo version available here and the paid version. Anyone who has a paid version prior to 3/1/98, please write for a free update.

If you find a bug and would like to report it, e-mail me with as much detail as you can. Provide what happened, what screen was showing, any error messages you received and what you were trying to do.

Version 2.0ab beta - known issues

• Printer doesn't work on a network - Turn your printer on that is the default printer or change your default printer in Windows. I could only get the program to misbehave under these conditions.
• Terminal post caps - Can't change coating until the price had been changed, then everything works fine. - I'm working on this one. The problem is only those post caps for the double gate posts. For now, either change the price first or change the window size. Also note that the program combines regular post caps with gate post caps, when the sizes are the same, so there is one item in the list. When you left-click or right-click on the post caps, you will be changing one only. This will separate them into two items at which time you can change each one individually.
• Core Drill Option Doesn't Work - It hasn't been programmed in this release...it's coming, along with completion of the floor flange option.
• Selecting 'NEW' on the main menu - When selecting 'new' on the main menu item to erase quantities, the current specs should remain the same and instead they are changed to the built-in defaults.

Version 2.0bb beta

The introduction of Fence 'Smart' Wizard - Your expert fence builder assistant. He (or she...excuse me) will warn you of incorrect configurations.

• Middle & Bottom Rail - A bug that did not list proper amounts of bolts for boulevards, tie wires, and rail end cups has been fixed 4/2/98.
• Can't change coating on bolts for bottom wire - fixed 4/2/98
• Fence 'Smart' Wizard warns you when you have bottom wire and want to add bottom rail. It will allow you to add both or delete the the bottom wire at the prompt.
• Fence 'Smart' Wizard warns you to delete bottom rail when adding bottom wire. You can choose to ignore the warning and keep both.
