Frequently Asked Questions
(FAQs) Regarding Hoover Fence Company's Kennels
(Economical and Modular Kennels)
3.) What size kennel do you recommend?
Answer:
The size and type of dog kennel to use depends on many variables. The size,
breed, and demeanor of your dog(s) will be amongst the first variables to consider. Very
active dogs, regardless of size, will naturally need more space than inactive ones. At the
same time, the demeanor of a large Great Dane may be that you could put him in a light
weight kennel without any threat of damage to your kennel units while a small Chihuahua
may chew through it. More importantly, the amount of time you plan on putting your pet(s)
in the kennel will affect the size and type of kennel to order. Pet owners who only need a
place to put their dogs in a kennel for a couple hours can reasonably use a smaller kennel
while owners who plan on keeping their pets in kennels for longer durations of time should
consider larger kennels or fencing in the whole yard. Regardless of the size of kennel you choose, you may always make it
larger by adding panels that simply bolt together. This applies to the modular kennels we
build at our facilities only. Other kennel kits may not be as flexible. Best of luck with
your choice!
Hoover Fence Co. offers a wide variety of dog kennels
designed to suit every need. Remember, it is important to be patient and give your pet(s)
time to adjust to confinement in a dog pen. Initially you may see changes in their
behavior and demeanor. Take special care in choosing a kennel for large aggressive breeds.
Always be humane when choosing a kennel for all breeds. If you have further questions
regarding the most appropriate kennel for your pet, call your veterinarian or the
