The Locinox Samson Gate Closers are some of the finest gate closers available, designed specifically for outdoor use. Manufactured with stainless steel components. These closers are recommended for heavy gates, such as those constructed of steel or wood. It would be difficult to open when used on lighter gates. Powerful, but smooth closing, can be used for gates that are between 42" and 60" wide and up to 6 feet tall. These closers can handle gates or doors weighing up to 180 lbs. Easy to install with no welding required. Never worry about whether you closed the gate again!

Note from Hoover Fence Co.: This closer will “let go” the last 5 degrees of the swing and effectively slam some gates. Locinox has confirmed that this feature was engineered into the closer deliberately in order to engage whatever latch they might be using. This feature can not be disabled or changed with any amount of adjusting. Most customers do not object to this.
We encourage people to buy the proper closer based on the gate weight. The SAMSON-400 is designed for heavy gates over 100 lbs. and requires a significant and larger amount of force to open than the SAMSON-250 when used on gates lighter than 100 lbs.
