Hardware Fact Sheet:

Wood Screws

Used in most of our products
They are a Dura Coat process on steel.
Last 7 times longer than galvanized.
Is a cold temperature process. The temper of the steel screw itself is not affected. Galvanizing is a hot temperature process that weakens the temper of the screw.
Have nibs under screw head which help prevent screw from backing out.

Solid Brass and Bronze Coated Steel Bolts

Insert or "T" Nuts

Used mostly in Adirondack furniture
Made of Zinc Alloy = no rust.
Provide a metal-to-metal connection to help prevent stripping, used in critical areas where screws can easily strip in wood if too much effort is applied.
"T" Nuts and fastener bolts will sandwich pieces of wood together between the fastener heads (unlike the drawing action of a screw, which leads to potential stripping).
