Winged PVC Slats for Chain Link Fences
Description: Slats slide in vertically between curvature created by woven chain link diamonds. This type fills the space between the slats with the wings that are on the sides of each picket, making the fence nearly solid. The wings hold the slats in position, so no fasteners or 'weaving' of other strips is necessary. Available in wide range of colors. Difficulty in installation: Time consuming but not difficult. One bag covers about 10' of fence * Use two 5' slats for 10' high fence and two 6' slats for 12' high fence. These slats are designed to be about 95% solid in a 2" sq. chain link mesh. Measure the chain link diamond as shown in the drawing. If the measurement of 'A' is 2-1/8" (called 2" mesh see illustration below), these slats will fit. Typically 11 ga. and 9 ga. chain link fabric are woven into a 2" mesh, but not always. The only way to be sure is to measure the diamond. If you have chain link diamonds that are larger, do not use this winged type slat. They will fall out of the mesh. Some chain link mesh will measure 2-3/8" (11-1/2 ga.) or larger (12-1/2 ga.). These gauges are not suitable for winged slats. You can use the lock-top pvc slats. They won't be solid either, but they will stay in any mesh, because they have a locking horizontal piece that holds them in.
