Vinyl Gate Installation - Installing a Vinyl Gate Drop Pin

Assembling a vinyl gate drop pin:

Lay out material and check list

1 - ( 1 ) Drop Pin Bar
2 - ( 2 ) Brackets
3 - ( 1 ) Drop Pin Base
4 - ( 1 ) Drop Pin Pipe
( 12 ) 1" Stainless Steel Screws
( 1 ) Instruction Sheet

Assembling Drop Pin Kit - Figures 1 and 2

Position and attach Brackets on one side of Gate only: opposite side of Hinge & Latch. First attach Bottom Bracket in line with bottom of Bottom Rail. FIGURE 2 Before attaching Top Bracket; allow Pin to go against ground. Lower Top Bracket so Pin can reset in ground approximately 4", before attaching onto Gate Post.

NOTE: Be sure the Brackets are facing in the proper direction. FIGURE 1

Position both Gates until it is in line with fence. Mark ground and dig out approximately 4" of dirt where Pin is to reset. Hammer Drop Pin Pipe into ground with a 2 x 4 on the top to protect ends from caving in. FIGURE 3

Drive pipe a few inches, pull it out of the ground and knock out dirt. Continue driving pipe until it is completely in the ground and is dirt free. Be sure it is in line with the pin.

Position Drop Pin Base on top of pipe. Hammer on Base until it is flush with ground.FIGURE 4

NOTE: Use wood 2 x 4 on top to protect base.

NOTE: It is recommended that a Drop Pin Kit be used on both gates, when two Gates are used.

Drop Bar in place and enjoy years of maintenance free gate service!
