Drop Rods
Locking Device for Double Gates Drop rods are used on double or dual gates, two gates which latch together in the center. Simply bolt drop rod guides (included) onto gate upright and slide drop rod into guide to install. Chain link drop rods are lockable with padlocks (not provided). Drop rods are designed to allow you to lift the drop rod, pivot rod, and set to 'hold' the drop rod in the 'up' position for easy swinging. 1-3/8" residential drop rod shown below, commercial drop rods available to fit 1-5/8" and 2" applications. Drop rods require a centerstop in the ground for the rod to slide into. Drive in a piece of pipe or use one of our many centerstops found here.
