Aluminum Chain Link Fence Drop Rod for Double Swing Gates

This Drop Rod is designed to fit 2" gate frames.

Drop rods are typically used on chain link double drive gates. Double drive gates are two gates which work in conjunction with one another, i.e. two six foot wide gates which are used to close a twelve foot wide opening. When the two gates meet at their latching side, a drop rod is used to 'pin' the gates down and hold it firmly in place. Chain link drop rods typically install vertically and parallel to the gates' vertical uprights using drop rod guides. Drop rods use a small piece of pipe in the ground to slide the rod into to secure the gate. With the drop rod secured in the ground, the opposite gate will automatically latch when closed. Gates can be locked using a standard padlock.

Our Aluminum Drop Rod Assembly features a built in handle which releases the drop rod from the latch and allows you to lift the bolt out of the ground. Drop rods consist of a 1-3/8" diameter x 36" long pipe with welded handle and latch, two guides, and a latch receiver bracket.
