Designed for protection with a canopy, the BS-F37 baseball backstop features a full 12' of vertical height plus an angled 6' canopy. The width is 20' with 10' wings. You add the manpower and save money. We supply all the materials you need except the tools, concrete, and muscle power. You can review the manual to see for yourself whether you or your team want to tackle a job this size.
Standard Backstop: The standard BS-F37-S Backstop Kit is designed with 9 gauge galvanized chain link stretched on the bottom vertical portion (12' high) of the backstop. The top canopy of the backstop is designed with 11 gauge chain link fabric.
Upgraded Backstop: The upgraded BS-F37-U Backstop Kit includes an upgraded bottom vertical portion of the backstop (12 high) to a 6 gauge chain link fabric for more durability. This portion of the backstop typically receives the majority of the abuse from baseballs, softballs, etc. The top portion of the backstop also includes an upgrade from an 11 gauge chain link to 9 gauge chain link; this option also includes an upgrade of the framework from 16 gauge (.065 wall) to 14 gauge (.085 wall) for further support and durability.
Need a Different Size?
No problem, Hoover Fence Co. offers an assortment of chain link materials and supplies. We can build other styles of baseball backstops to your specifications and size, but you must provide adequate drawings, material lists, and specifications for bid purposes. Sorry, we do not offer custom design services at this time, however we will assist with preparing cost estimates. Please note larger backstops with larger canopies usually require special skills and knowledge to install such as pipe fitting, notching, trussing, and welding.
Here are some pictures of us installing the chain link fence posts for this modified BS-F37 which is one of 3 similar fields which we replaced throughout 2019.
This was the next step of this particular project which shows the process of framing up and stretching the chain link fence fabric on the backstop posts. This backstop is a little different than our standard package because of the additional horizontal rail in the bottom half.
This series of photo's details the installation process of the canopy itself. This process went pretty smooth as we were able to pre-fabricate the canopy panel and install it all at once.
Here is the finished installation of this awesome backstop!
Here is a series of photos from another ballpark installation here in Newton Falls, Ohio that we completed in 2019. This showcases another modified BS-F37 backstop which features the 6 gauge and 9 gauge bottom (BS-F37-6U) and canopy (BS-F37-9U) upgrades, along with an additional horizontal rail which adds strength to the bottom portion of the backstop.
We didn't get pictures of the post setting, framing, and stretching but were lucky enough to capture the canopy construction and the finished product. The first image shows the lower portion completed and progresses through the installation to the total backstop. Enjoy!
Here is another series of photos from yet another field we were lucky enough to rebuild down at the Newton Falls Ball Park. This installation involved a fully upgraded and slightly modified BS-F37 backstop, sideline fences, and home run fences, complete with foul poles! Follow the journey below:
Here are some pictures of the old backstop before we tore it out, followed up with the pulled posts with massive concrete footers! These took a lot of effort to pull out and had to be replaced with even larger footers to support our new backstop.
In this short series of images you will see a huge footer before the concrete is poured, along with images of all of the posts after they have been set.
This grouping of photos shows the process of us framing and stretching the backstop portion of this baseball field. We were already framing it up for a while by the time that I remembered to take some pictures so we had already added most of the 1-5/8" HF40 rails.
Here is the final series of this backstop installation. The photos showcase the fabrication of the canopy portion of the backstop along with images of the finished project. Another one in the books!
