We design, build, and deliver baseball and softball backstops, sideline safety fences, and home run fences made to use for multiple generations, not just those playing today.
Four decades of choosing materials, building fields, and maintaining them has taught us to use 9 gauge or 6 gauge chain link fabric where balls are pitched and bounce, and batters swing. Lighter gauges such as 11, 11-1/2, or even 12 will not last: They bend and mangle easier and rust sooner. The heavier the wire (the smaller the number in gauge), the stronger it is. Heavier pipe and wire also is hot dipped galvanized for a longer period of time, meaning more zinc coating and more corrosion resistance. Thin wall pipe and tube will sag, bend, and rust out quicker than commercial or industrial materials. Cheap fittings, thin tie wires, insufficient post lengths, and lack of bracing will further lessen the life of a baseball/ softball backstop, sideline fence, or home run fence. It's important to note, labor to install these materials, or heavier materials are often static - meaning there is little to no difference in the cost, or time to install superior or inferior fence materials. Install the best, you'll thank us for it later when you are coaching, pitching, or enjoying being a spectator - instead of repairing and maintaining ball fields!
Options: Several sizes (heights and widths) of baseball and softball backstops are available to suit various levels of play. Likewise, home run and sideline fences are available in various heights and with optional bottom and mid rail bracing kits to further reinforce and prolong the life of the field. Many of these field specifications may be adjusted to customize your field of dreams. Feel free to send us your field specifications for a custom quote. Quantity discounts are available on multiple field purchases.
