Cedar is a natural choice for outdoor and indoor use because of its beauty, practicality, and durability. Only the finest cedar is used to create our furniture which will last for generations. It is naturally resistant to decay, insect, and weather damage. Due to these inherent qualities of cedar, it is a top choice for outdoor fencing, siding, and even shingles/ shakes on homes. Cedar has exceptional high strength-to-weight ratio, which means that it is strong, durable, and easy to move around. Further cedar has such excellent weathering properties that is does not shrink, or warp as many other species of wood do. Unlike pressure treated lumber and wood furniture, there are no chemicals preservatives used, which means you can rest easy!
Two Types of Cedar: Northern White Cedar for indoor and outdoor furniture for its creamy white color and enduring strength. Western Red Cedar is used in outdoor garden products such as arbors and trellises. When left untreated, both will weather gracefully to a silvery gray. It may also be stained to match any decor.
All cedar log furniture is subject to the natural process of checking as the wood seasons. Checking occurs as wood releases moisture across or through the annual growth rings and it does not affect the structural integrity of the wood.
