Contemporary Suffolk Gate Latch (6159)

Our Contemporary Suffolk Latch incorporates an attractive handle on one side with heavy latching components on the other side to create a beautiful, contemporary-styled gate latch like no other! It’s primarily used for yard-swing, privacy gates and in-swinging doors. All components are made from Marine Grade 316 Stainless Steel. It features a heavy cast handle molded with integral back plate. The Suffolk Latch is available in a Natural Satin Finish or our Black Polyester Powder Coat over 316 Stainless Steel. We supply it with everything you need for an easy installation, including a gate stop and padlock eyes.

This latch is ideal for use with Wood Gates.

Contemporary Suffolk Gate Latch (6159) Features:

Handle back plate measures 2" wide x 8.5" tall.
Latching bar measures 7/8" wide x 8" tall.
Suitable for Gates and Doors up to 4" thick.
Flush Mounts.

Manufactured from 316 stainless steel.

Here is a beautiful series of photographs from our customer Sean, over in New York, of a vertical picket privacy fence that he built using Mahogany. The hardware for the gates were supplied by us and we are pleased that he worked with us on this project. The mahogany gates are hung using Snug Cottage 6100-B454 Stainless Steel Butt Hinges, and secured with Suffolk Latches, also in black stainless steel. Here are some great pictures from a customer of ours down in Savannah, Georgia of a contemporary wood gate installation. We are pleased that Ernest chose to use our hardware to hang this gate and finish off this beautiful project. Ernest chose to use a combination of 12" (Top) and 5" (Bottom) 8325 Heavy Duty Double Strap Hinges mounted to 8256-34P Mounting Plates with 8" Adjustable Pin. He also used our FP-8256-B Hardware Kits. The gate is secured using the Snug Cottage 6159-B316 Suffolk Gate latch. All of this high quality Snug Cottage Gate Hardware, along with Ernie's craftsmanship, created this heavy duty and reliable wood gate that swings easily and locks securely.

Good products, responsive online service. Shipping costs are VERY high for small items.

Great, but immediately chipped

It's a really lovely piece of hardware and I looked at hundreds!

BUT the paint immediately chipped in multiple spots. I contacted customer service and they were very responsive and offered touch up paint, but I wonder how long that will last. For this price, I'm disappointed. Maybe I'd feel ok if they made an obvious warning on the site that this will happen quickly.
