Solid Dog Ear Fence Western Red Cedar and Treated Fences
Dog Ear style of wood fence can be constructed with no spaces between the pickets
as shown below or with a space of your choice. This style fence is available in Red Cedar
or Treated Pine. Treated posts are recommended, cedar posts will rot
prematurely when concreted. Cedar pickets and rails are recommended over treated, they
have less tendency to warp or bow.
Most economical of all our solid (no space between fence pickets) cedar fences.
Easy installation for homeowners when panelized. The uniform and consistent pattern of
fence pickets makes a shortened section invisible from the outside of fence. This style is
very easy to cut down in width.
style of wood fence has a neighbor side (the good side with pickets) and your side (the
post and rail side) as opposed to some styles that are the same on both sides. Initially
treated fence posts do not match exactly in color if using cedar pickets and rails (until
it grays in about a year or is stained). Wood is not a man-made product and will warp,
crack, and fade. Consider a vinyl
fence or aluminum fence
for less maintenance and more consistent product.
