Controlled Entry - Free Exit

"Controlled entry, free exit" is one of the most popular setups for automated gates. Safety and security coupled with convenience and comfort make this application ideal for residential and commercial automated gate projects.

System Components:

  • 1 - Opener - (single or dual application)
  • 1 - Time Delay (Integral to Openers)
  • 2 - Loops
  • 2 - Vehicle Detectors
  • 1 - Entrance Device* ( i.e. keypad, card reader)
  • 1 - Three button Switch

*Note: Other entrance devices may be used, i.e. radio controls, telephone intercoms, etc.

System Sequence:

Entry:

The vehicle approaches the entrance and driver uses the entrance device, i.e. keypad, card reader, radio device. This creates an impulse which actuates the opener and opens the gate.

As the vehicle travels through the opening, it passes over the "outer loop" and "inner loop" creating an impulse to hold the gate open. When the loops have been cleared, the timer, after a preset period, sends an impulse to the gate opener to close the gate.

If the gate is closing as a vehicle reaches the loop area, the gate reverses to the open position and the timer automatically resets.

Exit:

From inside the fence line, the vehicle approaches the exit and passes over the inner loop. This transmits an impulse to actuate the opener and open the gate. As the vehicle passes over the inner and outer loops, an impulse is transmitted to hold the gate in an open position. When the vehicle clears both loops, the timer (after a preset period) sends an impulse to the gate opener to close the gate.

Controlled Entry - One Way Traffic

"Controlled entry, One Way Traffic" is also a popular setup for automated gates. This system is popular for one way traffic and higher security areas as 'free exit' is not integrated into the system. Vehicles may enter in one direction only. Loops serve as safety devices.

System Components:

Free Exit

"Free Exit" is a popular setup for automated gates for residential and commercial applications. This eliminates the need for exit push-buttons and keypads. Gates will automatically open for exit for visitors without other means of exiting.
