Certified Automated Gate Operator Installer
The Certified Automated Gate Operator Installer is a nationally recognized certification, sponsored by the Institute of Door Dealer Education and Accreditation (IDEA).
- Eligibility for the certification includes candidates who have:
- Completed a self-study guide, which teaches various aspects of automated gate operator systems.
- Successfully passed a written examination based on the information provided by the self-study guide.
- Worked two or more years in installing and servicing automated gate operator systems.
Once all three steps are successfully completed, the candidate will be nationally certified.
Re-certification takes place every three years. Candidates must maintain certification by resubmitting an application and maintaining the proper amount of educational credits.
