Here is an example of the type of drawing that gives us nearly all the information we need to make a material list:

Notice that the drawing shows the measurements on each side of the gate. This is important in calculating the correct quantities of panels and posts on each side. It shows that the gate posts must also be figured as end/terminal posts. Providing total footage means little, because we need to know the number of sections/rolls and posts required.
