Our HF40 is a premium grade round tube/pipe used for commercial and industrial grade chain link job sites. It is used for the framework, or 'skeleton' of the fence. Use for all horizontal rails, and posts. Can be purchased in full lengths or as cut posts for your convenience.
Full lengths are used as top rail and ordered to be cut to length. HF40 pipe is not available swedged, meaning the pipe will not taper on one end to fit into the next. You must use top rail sleeves also found in our online catalog to sleeve top rail pieces together.
Terminal posts for chain link fence are typically 36" longer than the height of fence being installed for commercial, i.e. a 6' high fence has 9' long terminal posts. Chain link line posts are typically 2-1/2' longer than the height of fence being installed for commercial, i.e. a 6' high fence has 8'6" long line posts. Check your local building codes and practices for proper installation.

Post length does not always correspond with footer depth. The footer should extend below the post to frost depth. A commercial fence with line posts 8-1/2' long would provide about 2'9" below ground. In many northern climates, the frost depth could be 3' or more. Pour footers to that frost depth and suspend the post in the concrete. This can be accomplished simply by pouring the concrete into the hole first and sticking the post to depth immediately afterward. With a proper concrete mix, the post will not require bracing to stay at the proper height.

Here is a series of pictures from Cole down in Berwick, LA, showcasing a very nice wood fence installation which was put in using OZCO IS-FBL fence brackets and 2-1/2" round steel chain link fence posts (2-3/8" OD actual). These brackets allow you to completely wrap and conceal the steel post, and this install features a very well constructed cedar privacy fence. We love how the top and sides are encased and trimmed out. Great job Cole - The project looks wonderful!
Here are some pictures of a custom 7' High sideline fence we installed that is constructed of premium chain link fence products. The chain link fabric is galvanized 9 gauge, and the posts, top, and bottom rails are HF40 tubing.
Here is a recent installation of 6' high solid dog ear fence, which was 'stick-built' with cedar lumber, heavy duty HF40 galvanized steel posts, and OZCO IS-FBS wood to steel fence brackets.
Here are some installation pictures from a large chain link fence installation we did in Atwater Ohio. This project was made up of 6' High 9 gauge chain link fence with 3-strands of barbed wire on top. This was for a large storage facility. We used all HF40 steel fence posts, 9 gauge chain link fence fabric, top rail, and Class III barbed wire.
