Wood Finials have been used for hundreds of years to enhance fine homes and businesses. When detail and quality matter, Nantucket Finials offer the best in outdoor wood finial selection. Finials are constructed of quality laminated clear unfinished Western Red Cedar. Top your fence post or deck post with a finial to add many years of beauty and elegance to your backyard garden or fence entrance. Finials fasten directly to the top of a post cap with an included 2-sided lag screw or you can install with a marine grade adhesive. You can order Nantucket Slip Over or Non-Slip Over Post Caps and request to have them pre-drilled to accept the finial screw at no additional charge. Naturally, only the flat top post caps can be used with finials. It is highly recommended to seal the finials, as well as the post caps, with a high grade sealer, stain, or paint. All sides of the finials should be sealed including the base to prevent cracking when exposed the the harsh outdoor elements.

Preparation:
All Nantucket Post Cap Finials are constructed of quality laminated clear Redwood and Western Red Cedar. They should be sealed BEFORE installation with an oil base primer, paint, stain or preservative to ensure long life. These should be applied to all surfaces INCLUDING the base.
Installation:
Nantucket Finials are pre-drilled and shipped with lag screws for easy installation after sealing. The screws should be inserted first into the base of the finial using a pair of pliers around the smooth section (not the threads). Then thread the finial with mounted lag screws into the post. Pre-drilling the top of the post is optional and may aid in the installation. Exterior caulking material can be applied to the base to ensure a tight fit if desired.

Product was great and they were very helpful on a return that I messed up
Misleading/confusing finial dimensions 
The product is top notch. Shipping was timely. The service rep, Ashley, was very,very friendly and helpful with a question I had regarding my order. My comment is...When checking out the product,cedar finial balls, I went by the dimension listed under it and ordered going by that. Come to find out you have to make sure you review the spec info. The actual size of the ball turned out to be smaller than what is listed with the image. If I decided to do a return I would have to pay return shipping and not worth the final cost. In my opinion, the actual size should be listed with the image. I would have given a 5 star rating if it wasn't for this situaion.
