Copper Pyramid fence post cap slips over the fence posts and come with 2 screws for mounting. All copper post caps provide complete protection for your posts preventing the ''end grain'' from deteriorating. Since our post caps are 100% copper and the thickest on the market, they will patina over time to a green/antique color. If you decide you want them to remain polished just spray with a clear lacquer coating. Remember, Copper will last a lifetime and never need maintenance. These heavy-duty copper caps have a rustic look (no dents but some small dings are normal) and a high gloss finish. These shiny post caps will weather naturally with time or the shine can be maintained for longer periods of time by polishing with a cleaner or treating with a sealer.
The Pyramid Caps are available to fit true 4x4 and 6x6 posts as well as dimensional 4x4, 6x6, 8x8, and even 4x6 posts (actual inside sizes 3-5/8" square, 5-3/4" square, 7-5/8" square, and 3-5/8" x 5-3/4" respectively). Copper caps are 20 gauge thick. Caps have a 3/4" lip and are fastened to posts with supplied screws or waterproof adhesive (not supplied). Protect the top of your posts from rotting and add a unique look to your outdoor structure with these copper post caps.

These caps are made from 100% copper and have no protective finish. They will tarnish over time and this is considered normal weathering. The final color varies and will depend on location and climate. Salt, moisture, sunlight, and orientation can and will affect color. In general, copper progresses from a natural salmon color to a series of russet browns and grays, and finally a blue-green or gray-green patina. Caps will vary in color as they weather, but eventually those variations will even out. This is part of the beauty and character of true copper caps. Fingerprints can leave marks on these caps so be careful handling. Copper will reach its full tarnish potential in approximately one year, again dependent on moisture and other factors.
