Create Privacy In A Snap for You Ornamental Steel or Aluminum Picket Fence! Louver Fence Privacy Panels are designed to be used on ornamental picket fences to keep an area private or to redirect a breeze. The panels are made of P.V.C. plastic with U.V. and embrittlement resistors similar to siding for houses. The louver fence panels can be turned 90° to open up a scenic view or catch a breeze.
Due to their low maintenance, aluminum fencing, ornamental steel fencing, and decorative vinyl fencing have become very popular with homeowners and business owners alike. Used in a myriad of applications, ornamental fencing made of man-made materials such as these are quickly gaining ground on natural fence materials such as wood fencing and traditional fencing such as chain link.
With the exception of vinyl fence styles with an abundance of privacy styles available, ornamental aluminum and steel fencing typically does not offer as many styles designed for privacy. Ornamental aluminum and steel fence styles are cost efficient, easy to install, safe, and attractive. They have proven themselves to be an attractive alternative to chain link and wood to surround pools, secure businesses, define property lines, and contain animals.
PVC fence slats, designed for ornamental aluminum and steel fence styles, will provide privacy, help block wind, and create a private oasis within your existing or future fence. Privacy slats can alter the appearance and functionality of your existing fence, or you may plan to use them on a new fence installation. The fence slats pivot 90° easily so you may change all of them or some of them at any time in a very short amount of time.
The installation of PVC slats in ornamental fence is extremely easy requiring no screws, bolts, welding, or other fasteners. Slats simply fold open and snap onto ornamental pickets. Made of durable PVC designed for outdoor use, fence slats are made with UV and embitterment resistors similar to house vinyl siding making them the perfect choice to accent your fence.
Many ornamental picket style aluminum or steel fence styles are manufactured with 5/8", 3/4", or 1" pickets. These fence slats are available to fit all these fence picket sizes and in lengths/heights of 4', 5', and 6'. Slats can be special ordered in 7', 8', 9, and 10' lengths, but expect longer delivery times. Fence louvers are easy to work with; cut desired length easily with most wood working tools, miter saw, or even trim them with aviation tin snips for the perfect fit.
Ordering Notes:
Please Note: This material is custom cut for each order and is non-returnable! Privacy fence screening, privacy slats, and fence louvers may increase the wind load on any fence or structure. Make sure your fence or structure is constructed properly for the additional wind load before installing.
Privacy Picket Panels are designed to be a snap! Easy to install light weight and easy to maintain.
Tools that will be needed to cut and install privacy panels are:Step 2: Unpack and check contents of shipment. Measure distance between horizontal rails where you would like to install ornamental PVC slats.
Step 3: Trim PVC Fence slats if necessary for a perfect fit. Extender Clips and Locking Strips will need to be cut to match as well. We recommend cutting 1/4" shorter to leave room for expansion.
Step 4: Start snapping them on the fence. Take your fingers and pry open the top of the privacy panels. Even though the panel is quite rigid, it is flexible enough to open enough for installing over pickets. Line up with the picket and just snap on, making sure it's secure all the way down. A rubber mallet can help tap slats all the way down.
Step 5: Continue to snap on all privacy picket panels until the fence is complete. If you want your fence to stay private at all times, use the Lock Strip to snap on the back of the privacy panels (optional Lock Strips sold separately). The locks can be removed or put on at anytime depending if you want total privacy or you want them open for a breeze or view.
Step 6: Take an extender clip and start from the top and slide down the privacy panel, this will line right up and lock in place. Take your drill and drill a hole on the centerline of the extender clip. You can use as few or as many buttons as needed to secure the extender clip to the privacy panel. Normally about 3 or 4 for 4' and 5' heights. Use more for taller picket panels. Take a button, line it up with the hole and push hard to lock in. You will hear it snap. It's that easy.
Important Installation Information:Here is a nice picture from our customer Dan over in Wildwood, Missouri, of his metal fence with our ornamental privacy slats installed. He created a very nice private play area at his condo for his grandchildren and was very pleased with how the project turned out. His fence had 5/8" square pickets so he used the H5-8B Slats along with the optional locking strips and slat extension clips. Thank you for sharing Dan - it looks great!
Black ornamental louvered privacy slats were installed only on one small section of this customer's new bronze Jerith 54" high ornamental aluminum fence. The black slats in a bronze fence created a unique two-toned fence. Further, 4' high fence slats were trimmed slightly to fit in-between the bottom rail and the next rail up. Fence slats were not installed in space below the top fence rail and the next rail down creating an unique fence in this upscale neighborhood. Small trash can enclosure was approximately 10' wide and 5' deep with a double aluminum gate on front of rectangular enclosure. This small trash enclosure was an ideal location for ornamental privacy slats to hide the trash cans. The small rectangular shape configuration provided ample strength for the additional wind load. Slats were in the process of being installed by Hoover Fence Co. while pictures were taken. Fence privacy slats were installed in two Jerith aluminum gates as well. The clip extenders used to fill the gaps between pickets between the last picket and fence post, or gate upright were not installed.
Ornamental patio fence before louvered privacy slats were installed. Dining area was not private. Fence louver slats pivot quickly allowing for more breeze on hot days.
Ornamental patio fence after louvered privacy slats were installed. Dining area is now more private and more inviting to guests.
Ornamental pool fence after louvered privacy slats. Ornamental privacy slats installed in pool fence now allow for a more private area.
Small fence enclosure for pool pump, air conditioner, and other utilities. Ornamental privacy slats were installed to help hide these utilities. Slat clip extenders were not used to fill gap between last picket in fence panel and posts or gate uprights. Two-sided Jerith bronze aluminum fence enclosure was 'L-shaped' and abutted brick house. The red brick home, bronze aluminum fence, and black fence louvers complimented each other nicely in color. The fence pictured is Jerith 54" high Style #202 modified in bronze. 4' high slats were trimmed slightly to fit in-between bottom rail and mid rail of fence. Fence privacy slats were not installed in small gap between the top rail and next rail down.
Small section of railing with privacy slats. The clip extenders used to fill the gaps between pickets between the last picket and fence post were not installed. Clip extenders connect to last slat and fasten with snap buttons.
Fence Louvers installed on a taller industrial fence enclosure. Privacy slats are extremely easy to work with. They cut easily with a miter saw, or other wood working saws. You may hide unsightly industrial work zones easily with these slats. Slats install without screws, bolts, or other fasteners making them easy for a do-it-yourself customer to install themselves and save costs associated with labor. Further, fence louvers are easy to remove completely, or opened for wind flow.
Privacy slats installed as shade materials on a custom upper story deck. Slats may be installed nearly anywhere to create shade, privacy, and block wind. Due to the ease of working with these PVC slats, a miter saw can be used to cut fence slats down in length, and also to cut odd angle to meet these roof line or other angles.
Privacy fence louvers may be installed as siding on a car port. Slat material blocks the sun, wind, rain, and other elements from entering parking spots. Slats also help protect finishes on vehicles, outdoor furniture, and other typically garaged items. The decorative design of ornamental fence slats is extremely functional, practical, and easy to install by a novice. Slats simply fold open allowing the slat to be installed over steel or aluminum pickets in various sizes. Installation on most any fence, railing, or other structure is a snap. Slats can be rotated 90° to allow wind circulation.
