Ritron has developed this simple package of three 2-way radios that make up the license free VHF GateGuard System.
Will this system work with any gate operator?

Do I need to install 110 volt electric to the OutPost Callbox/Intercom?
No. The OutPost can be powered by batteries or by using the supplied 12 VAC transformer. The unit uses 6 rechargeable D-cell Alkaline or Ni-Cd batteries when powering with batteries only. When used with battery power, the system is programmed to go into "sleep-mode" to preserve battery life, wakes up when button is pushed at OutPost station - batteries good for one year or up to 1,000 transmissions. When using the transformer for power, 110 VAC power must be available at the gate. The intercom feature of the OutPost Callbox is usually programmed as "always on" when using transformer power. The transformer plugs into a weather-protected outlet near the callbox. It's connected to the callbox through a hole in the unit that you must drill. The wire is recommended to be protected by conduit. It's a simple 2-wire hookup.
What is the range for the Callbox ?
Depending on the unit location and installation, the OutPost set for 1 watt can cover up to 1 mile line-of-sight.
Are all functions field programmable on the Callbox?
No. Most functions are programmed into the unit before it is shipped. You must let us know what your specific application will be so we can have it programmed correctly. Some functions are also field programmable.
