1. Visitor/delivery person arrives at secured gate area.
2. Visitor/delivery person activates OutPost with keypad for immediate entry with pre-authorized code OR...pushes call button to announce their arrival.
3. Call from gate is received via radio by facility personnel. Using a Ritron portable radio or desktop base station, authorized personnel can communicate remotely with individual at gate and transmit a security code back to the OutPost wireless intercom/callbox to activate gate controller.
4. Security code is received by the OutPost wireless callbox. The built-in GateGuard feature activates the "attached" gate controller. The gate opens allowing approved visitors to enter facility.

RQX-156-XT OutPost Callbox/Wireless Intercom
No. The OutPost can be powered by batteries or by using the supplied 12 VAC transformer. The unit uses 6 rechargeable D-cell Alkaline or Ni-Cd batteries when powering with batteries only. When used with battery power, the system is programmed to go into "sleep-mode" to preserve battery life, wakes up when button is pushed at OutPost station - batteries good for one year or up to 1,000 transmissions. When using the transformer for power, 110 VAC power must be available at the gate. The intercom feature of the OutPost Callbox is usually programmed as "always on" when using transformer power. The transformer plugs into a weather-protected outlet near the callbox. It's connected to the callbox through a hole in the unit that you must drill. The wire is recommended to be protected by conduit. It's a simple 2-wire hookup.
Depending on the unit location and installation, the OutPost set for 1 watt can cover up to 1 mile line-of-sight.
No. Most functions are programmed into the unit before it is shipped. You must let us know what your specific application will be so we can have it programmed correctly. Some functions are also field programmable.

JMX-144D Handheld Portable Radio
The Portable Radio can control virtually any amount of devices. You can communicate with the callbox and open the gate with the Portable Radio.
The Portable Radios have a line-of-site range of two and one-half miles.
The battery packs are rechargeable are warranted for 1 year by the manufacturer. Proper care for the battery pack insures it will last this long. Charging in done by inserting the radio in the supplied Cube Charger. You can also charge the battery pack itself by removing it from the radio and using a spacer provided with the charger to charge the battery outside of the radio. This is convenient when using the radio with a fresh battery pack while charging a second battery. Keep in mind the "memory" involved for these batteries. To get the maximum charge capacity, the battery must be fully discharged. A typical battery pack may require up to 8 hours to completely discharge. See the owners manual for instructions on charging to it's maximum capacity.
Programming is done by the dealer. You shouldn't have to do any field programming. Refer to your manual if field programming is necessary.
