Chain link fence rail end cups are used to connect the top rail of a chain link fence to a terminal post (end, gate, or corner post.) Use also for mid rail and bottom rail. Rail ends may be used for custom framing applications. Truss rods are often installed to help prevent the ‘pulling’ of a fence post under the stress of the stretch of chain link fence. Some rail end cups have a half-moon shape, some have holes, and some are solid. Be sure to choose a ‘combo’ rail end for those applications requiring truss rods.
Chain link fence post rail ends are ‘pressed fit,’ meaning simply slide on and tap on with your fence pliers, or a mallet. Rail ends are designed to fit the following standard chain link fence Outside Diameter (O.D.) tubing sizes: 1-⅜” (actual 1-5/16” O.D.), 1-⅝” (actual 1-⅝” O.D.), 2” (actual 1-⅞” O.D.), 2-½” (actual 2-⅜” O.D.)
