Self-closing gate hinges install in minutes using galvanized nuts and carriage bolts (included). Typical pedestrian gates require two hinges per gate. Self-closing chain link hinges may be added to existing gates, or used during new fence installations. Self-closing gates are often installed for convenience and security. These hinges are ideal for smaller residential pedestrian swing gates requiring gates to return to closed position after opening. Use a self-closing gate latch to compliment these hinges. Resembling standard male and female chain link strap hinges, these hinges are unique in that they are connected by an internal spring which forces the gate back to the closed position once opened. Hinges are sold each, not per pair, and include mounting bolts and nuts.

I just installed my walk gate spring hinges. I am a civilian, not in the fence business. The first day I installed them, I was not impressed with the way the gate sometimes closed fine, other times stayed open 6 inches either way. Wind may have been a factor. For the uninitiated, instructions would be helpful, at least advising NOT to remove the old hinges, which are absolutely necessary to keep the gate hanging properly. The additional spring hinges just serve the purpose of closing the gate.
Great people, great product. Helped me to be able to get the items I need to fix my fence. Explained how they worked and combined shipping when I ordered back to back cause I forgot an item. Great company and team!
