The Cannonball Closer Deluxe Kit includes the Cannonball Closer, Chain, Upgraded Mounting Hardware, and a Gate Stop for a complete and polished installation.
The Cannonball Gate Closer is a unique and attractive gate closer from America's colonial past. An effective means of ensuring your gate always closes - gravity driven. Requires that an additional post be installed behind the hinge post (The chain is attached between this post and the gate with the five pound solid cast iron ball suspended on the chain, gravity does the rest!).
Cannonball Gate Closer (CBP) Features:- Unique and attractive!
- Intended for use on wood single gate applications.
- 5 lb. Solid Cast Iron Ball
- 3-1/2" ball dia.
- Supplied with 3/16" dia. chain.
- Manufactured from a combination of cast iron (ball) and steel (chain).
- Available in Black (BPPCG) finish.
- Includes 4.5" Diameter Forged Steel Ball, Quick Link Connector, and Five Feet of Chain
- Includes Upgraded Mounting Kit (#CBP-MK) includes a Staple on Plate, Hook on Plate, and Quick Link for attaching chain to posts and gate.
- Includes Gate Stop (#1400) to avoid damage to the latch from excessive slamming.

- The Cannonball Gate Closer requires that an additional post be installed behind the hinge post. The chain is then attached between this extra post and the gate with a six-pound solid cast iron ball suspended on the chain. Gravity does the rest!

Exactly what I wanted. The canon ball door closure that I grew up with in Nantucket. No Maintenence. Just gravity at work. Unhook when gardening or need the gate to stay open. All the neighbors love it

The ball and chain arrived timely and was very easy to install. I am glad I ordered the deluxe kit because we can easily remove one end of the chain to leave the gate open. Very uptown look for the dual gate entering our formal garden.
