Our galvanized gate clips may be used to stretch chain link gates and kennel panels. Gate clips attach to the frame upright and to the tension bar, much like tension bands. Use on welded frames or frames built using gate corners. Like tension bands, use one less in quantity than the height of the panel, i.e., a 6' high panel would use five gate clips per side. To install, lay the panel flat or horizontal. This will allow for best leverage using the gate clip tool. Slide the tension bar in one end of the chain link fabric and space the gate clips evenly.
Pull the chain link mesh taut by hand. 'Cut' the chain link to the proper length by removing one link. Cutting to the proper length may be a trial-and-error process the first time. Basically, the gate clips will stretch the chain link by 1-3", so compensate accordingly when cutting fabric. Install gate clips on the other side and adjust the height of the chain link before tightening clips. Use the gate clip tool to 'crimp' gate clips closed and tighten the chain link panel. It is easiest to install gate clips with the clip tool with the fabric pulled hand tight; this will prevent the end of the gate clip from hitting the tension bar when crimping. Adjust height to perfection and tie off mesh with tie wires, top and bottom.

They had what I needed in stock. Delivery was very fast. Excellent service.
Product arrived in a timely manner and was exactly what I ordered. Product was well constructed and will serve the purpose I purchased it for.
These gate clips and installation tool arrived in a timely manner. It is very hard to find an installation tool for this purpose so I was glad to find this. It is impressive! Heavy weight and looks like will exert plenty of leverage to crimp the clips securely onto the gate. I haven't used it yet - I have to find the time to remove my two gates to install the (extra) clips and replace the clip which was mangled. However I don't anticipate any problems. Most of the chain link gates you buy are just slapped together with minimal hardware, and the clips are not crimped securely, so my gates are going to get an upgrade! If I need any other fence parts in the future, I will definitely shop at Hoover Fence Co.
Exactly what I needed to build a 10' long drive gate. Thanks for the help provided with allowing me a military discount on my purchase
