3/8" x 6-1/2" Carriage Bolts with Nuts and Washers for Wood (5 per pack)
This 5-Pack of carriage bolts, with nuts and washers, is intended for use with the 8256 Mounting Plate, and the optional Back Plate, when through bolting to a 6" square post. You will need one 5-Pack per Mounting Plate.
Each Package Contains:
- (5) 3/8" x 6-1/2" Carriage Bolts
- (5) 3/8" Nuts
- (5) 3/8" Washers
Ordering Notes:
If your post is a size other than 6"sq., then you will need to purchase 3/8" carriage bolts that are 1" greater than the length of the post. If you are also installing the optional 8256 Back Plate, then your carriage bolt length will need to be 1-1/2" greater than the length of the post.

Instructions
- It is best to drill through the post half-way, from both sides, to ensure perfect alignment. It is hard to drill straight through a 6" sq. post, so we recommend marking the position on both sides of the post and drilling only half-way through from each side. The hole from the second side will find the first, making the installation clean and tidy.
- Touch-up paint may be required for the bolt heads.

Here is a series of photos from our customer down in Hephzibah, GA, of a set of very nice Cape Cod Board Gates, built using our free DIY wood gate plans, and hung using our high quality Snug Cottage Gate Hardware.
Dayna hung the gate using the 8324 Series Rear Eye Heavy Duty Strap Hinges (8324-182 & 8324-052), 8256-342 Mounting Plate with 8" Pin, FP-8256-G Carriage Bolts, and 8256-BP022 Hinge Back Plates. For the fence, they built a 2-rail board fence that is backed with welded wire steel fencing. The project looks great Dayna!
Here is a great picture from a customer of ours down in Miami, FL that used Snug Cottage Hardware to build and install this homemade gate. Ana chose to use the 18" Heavy Duty Double Strap Hinges, Rear Eye (8325-182), Mounting Plate with 8" Adjustable Hinge (8256-342), and 6-1/2" Carriage Bolts, Nuts and Washers (FP-8256-G). The extra wide double strap hinges fit gates that are 3-1/2" thick which is perfect for building gates using 5/4" boards. The gate looks great and we are pleased to hear how well the hardware worked out for you! Keep up the great work!

Great stuff...minor nitpick 
Love you guys....great gear for custom fence work, and good customer support, but this time Snug Cottage messed up an order. To be fair, they did a great job of straightening it out before I'd gotten the hardware out of the box, but I did have to modify a design to accommodate the fix. It's a nit pick, I'd give you a 4.9 if I could since the quality is superior to anything else available on the market.

The rep was very helpful in getting the correct hardware for my project. The quality of the hardware is excellent. The only disappointment was the carriage bolts sent were the wrong size. I was able to use the for another part of the project, so all was well.
