Heavy Duty Straight Flat Strap Hinge with 3/4" Eye (8307)
Our Heavy Duty Straight Flat Strap Hinges are an excellent option for your heavier wood or cellular PVC gates. They are sold in pairs and can be used with any of our 3/4" pin selections for a versatile way to hang almost any gate.
The 8307 hinge is mounted with (1) carriage bolt and (2-3) lag screws depending on the length. If you are planning on using this with the Adjustable Hinge Mount with Threaded Pin (#8256), then you will need to install a spacer block between the hinge and gate frame to keep the two parts on the same plane.

- Ideally used with any of our 3/4" pin selections but is most commonly used with our 8801 pins.
- The single Straight Flat Strap design allow these to be used on any thickness of gate.

Here is a photo from our customer Randy down in Kingsville, TX, of an incredibly heavy-duty gate/door that he built using 4x6 lumber and two layers of corrugated metal. He estimates the gate weighs over 200 lbs and works perfectly! He hinged the door using Snug Cottage 8307-182 18" Heavy Duty Single Strap Hinges and 8308-072 3/4" Pins. The gate looks great and is an awesome design which even has a speak-easy style grill.

"I purchased some of your 18 inch Heavy Duty Straight Strap Hinges and 3/4" Pins that I used on my side gate. I will say that I am impressed (and I am not easily impressed). I jumped up and down on the bottom one before I installed it on the door and just one of the hinges easily supported my entire body weight (175 pounds). FYI the door weighs well over 200 pounds. The framing is 4 x 6 lumber with 10 mortise and tenon joints and the corrugated metal part of the door is 3 sheets thick of 26 gauge steel…I included a photo!

Here are a couple of pictures of a very heavy duty door that our customer built and hung for his new bar/restaurant over in Idaho. Larry chose to use a variety of Snug Cottage Hardware to hinge the door, and he couldn't be more pleased with the results.
The Gate Hinges used are a combination of 8305 Series Heavy Duty Cranked Strap Hinges, 8307 Series Heavy Duty Straight Strap Hinges, and 8256-34P Mounting Plates with 8" Adjustable Pins. All this hardware is finished in a black powder coated polyester which is applied over hot-dip galvanized steel, creating an incredibly durable product.
