Some picket caps secure inside (interior fit) of vinyl picket - a 1-1/2" or 3" wide picket is popular. Some picket caps will slide over (exterior fit). Many are 'pressed fit' requiring no fastener or glue. Some should be glued on using a vinyl adhesive.
