11ga. chain link fence fabric, in combination with .065 wall galvanized posts and rails, has become the standard for a budget-friendly residential chain link fence. 11ga. chain link fence wire is not only stronger, but also coated better than the lighter weight fence wire available at big box stores. The 2" diamond size is perfect for pets and for playing in the yard.
Ordering Notes:
For Contractors, it takes nearly the same amount of time to stretch light, medium, or heavy wire, which means your labor costs are not affected by your choice of wire. For this reason we will rarely, if ever, quote anything lighter than 11ga. for residential use. For the slight costs difference between 11ga. x 2" versus the 11-1/2ga. x 2-1/4" fence fabric, it is usually best to install the higher quality 11ga. wire that is more resilient to pets and play activities.

11 gauge chain link fabric is available in either Galvanized After Weave (GAW) or Galvanized Before Weave (GBW) finishes, both of which come in a 1.2 oz coating, meeting ASTM A 392-96 Class I specifications.
About mesh size: The galvanized fabric mesh for 11-1/2 gauge measures 2-1/4". The 11, 9, and 6 gauge galvanized mesh measures 2". Mesh size is the measured distance between two parallel sides (see illustration).

Note about gauges: The smaller the number, the heavier the fabric; henceforth 9ga. is heavier than 11ga.. We recommend 11ga. for residential jobs and 9ga. for commercial jobs. Heavier gauges are not only stronger, but have a better finish; The heavier the gauge the longer it may be 'hot-dip galvanized' to prevent rust and corrosion.

Rolls are supplied with an additional link for weaving onto another roll of material if over 50' is needed. On the flip side, a full roll can easily be trimmed down by un-knuckling (un-folding) the links on the ends and spinning the link out to one side of the roll.
