D-6040 Deluxe Exit Bar Kit
The D-6040 Deluxe Exit Bar Kit includes the parts to surface mount a D-6000 panic bar to a chain link or ornamental gate. This kit allows for free exit/egress, with keyed access/ingress from the outside of the gate.
D-6040 Deluxe Exit Bar Kit Contents:
- D-6000 36"L trimmable surface mount exit bar - silver only.
- D-6900 (12" H) or D-6600 or (24"H) 16ga. mounting plate with pre-drilled holes, adjusts for 32"-54" wide gate frame - black or silver.
- D-6020 Adjustable Receiver bracket for 3" O.D. (outside diameter) post (2-7/8" actual) - black or silver.
- D-6025 Lock box for External Access - black or silver.
- D-6014 Keyed Different Rim Cylinder with two keys.
- Stainless Steel tek-screws and fasteners.
Ordering Notes:
Height - refers to mounting plate height. Finish - refers to mounting plate, lock box, and adjustable receiver bracket.
2″, 3″, and 4″ round or square U-Bolts are available upon request.
If you need a keyed alike cylinder, the D-6010 cylinder can be purchased separately.
If you need a black panic bar, outside trim, or if you plan to add an electric strike, then you will need to upgrade your kit to a D-6045 kit with the V40 panic bar.

Here are some great photos from one of our customers over in North Haven, Connecticut. Sam did a great job installing the D-6040-S Deluxe Exit Bar Kit which includes the D-6000 Panic Bar, D-6020-D Strike Latch Receiver Bracket, D-6025-S Lock Box, D-6600-S Adjustable Mounting Plate, and D-6014 Keyed Rim Cylinder. All of these items were mounted onto a chain link swing gate that had been installed in a warehouse, making up a tool crib. This kit is great because it provides secure entrance and free exit, which is referred to as storeroom function in some circles. The gate is hung from malleable arm hinges that are mounted to the pad mounted chain link fence posts.
