Gate Hanger on 4" Square Plate (8254)
The Gate Hanger on 4” Square Plate can be used for various applications where a pin that is lag screwed to the post is needed. It is often used in conjunction with our Heavy Duty Double Strap (#8312 / #8324 / #8325) and Straight Flat Strap Hinges (#8307) on driveway posts that cannot be through-bolted due to their size or configuration. Its solid welded construction also prevents the pin from rotating in a “behind the post” type installation.
This hardware is ideal for use with Wood Gates.
Gate Hanger on 4" Square Plate (8254) Features:- Intended for use on wood applications.
- Back plate is 4" x 4" square.
- 3/4" dia. pin.
- Sold individually.
- Manufactured from forged steel.
- Available in Hot Dipped Galvanized or Black (BPPCG) finishes.
- Color-matching fasteners included (3/8" x 3.5" Lag Screws).
- Can be Lag Bolted to Post, Connected with Lengths of Threaded Rod through Posts, or Welded to Steel Post
- No Adjustment
- Often Suited to Retrofits

- Ideally used as a lag screw to the post option with our Central Eye Double Strap Hinges (8312), Straight Eye Double Strap Hinges (8322), Rear Eye Double Strap Hinges (8324/8325), Heavy Duty Straight Strap Hinges (8305/8307) and our Adjustable Gate Eyes (8251).
- The mounting holes in each corner are sized for use with 3/8” lag screws or regular bolts.

I bought Snug Cottage hardware for the 5-bar field gates we are building to go with our 3-rail split rail fence we bought from Hoover a few years ago. The hardware shipped and arrived in about a week, and functions great! Also, love the free field gate plans online. Very helpful when planning our own.
